Daily portrait painting #33.
One of the exiting things about painting is the unpredictability of it all. You can put down the same paint 10 days in a row and on day 11 all hell breaks loose. Sometimes that turns intot he most amazing push and pull process ever. Other times that turns into a day of complete frustration. The painting above was the latter. I don't know what was going on in the world at large but inside my studio there was a tiny vortex of disaster. Paint didn't go down like it normally does. Pencils I normally could rely on marked differently than I expected. One thing tumbled into 10 things tumbled into 20 things and all and all it was a strange (strange) painting day.
But it's finished! And that feels good. Daily painting hurrah!
