I’ve had “figure out shipping” at the top of my to do list for a long time. I’ve spent hours searching websites or the perfectly sized cardboard to get my pieces to their new homes. As that has failed, I’ve wondered, “Do I spend the time cutting my own boxes?” That sounds tedious and would add cost to my pieces. Something I want to avoid.
Then one day Amy, an art friend and someone who has done a ton of successful shipping, simply said, “Use a padded envelope.”
And the next day with a quick trip to my local shipping shop, I crossed “figure out shipping” off my list.
Art friends help you stay encouraged. They let you know your struggles are not felt in deep isolation. They are an important emotional connection to the world.
And also sometimes they will solve all of your shipping obstacles with in swift sentence.
